Supporting social distancing with walking and cycling improvements

Consultation has concluded

The Mayor of London launched the ‘Streetspace for London’ programme, to help make our streets better for social distancing, walking and cycling.

The programme will focus on key changes to help people get back to work and school, as government restrictions slowly begin to ease. These include:

  • Increasing and extending cycling networks
  • Transforming town centres, giving priority and space to people traveling on foot/by bike
  • Reducing traffic in residential areas through the creation of low-traffic neighbourhoods

You know your local area best, so we want to hear your views on the changes we could make to our streets, to help with social distancing, walking and cycling.

To have your say click on the interactive map, or the button below, and let us know what you think. From wider footways and lower traffic streets to better cycle routes, or simply suggesting what you think is already working – we want to hear from you. We’ll review your suggestions and prioritise these where possible.

There's a limited pot of money available to make these changes, but we'll take your suggestions on board and do our best to deliver as many as we can.
