Air Quality in Barking and Dagenham
Do you care about your neighbourhood? Do you have opinions about the environment/health/transportation? Imperial College London supported by the council are working with residents across Barking and Dagenham to share knowledge and experience of air quality in the borough. Learn more by watching this video.
What’s the project about?
Working with local residents, Imperial College London has built a website that we can all contribute to by ‘pinning’ our experiences, perceptions, and questions about air pollution to this digital map. You can access the map here. The aim of the project is to generate a clearer, fuller picture of local air quality conditions across the borough.
How will this improve air quality & the environment across the borough?
First, it can serve as an informational resource guided by the local community by including information about air pollution that is of interest to residents. Perhaps most importantly though, by contributing to the map, Barking and Dagenham residents can communicate what is most important when it comes to tackling air pollution to policy makers.
