YOUR School Street – Tell Us What You Think!

The School Street was introduced to help create a safer environment for children walking, wheeling, cycling or scooting to school. St Georges Road (between Beverley Road and Westfield Road) and Halbutt Street (between Beverley Road and Westfield Road) are pedestrian and cycle-only zones during term time between the hours of 8am to 9:15am and 2:45pm to 4pm.

The Halbutt Street School Street has been suspended until the school entrance on this road is reopened to pupils. We are currently working with the school to ensure the entrance is made accessible again. Advance notice of the School Street’s reinstatement will be provided to all residents and parents/carers of the school once a confirmed recommencement date has been agreed.

Emergency vehicles remain exempt and residents living inside the School Street, school staff (where the carpark is only accessible from inside a School Street), some carers, blue badge holders, and local businesses may be eligible for vehicle exemptions.
