Dynamos of Dagenham, a community group at Kingsley Hall, are interested in finding out the stories of those that have lived through or know people living with the impact of homelessness, especially hidden homelessness, so we can best understand some of the causes and solutions. Hidden Homelessness – What are the causes and how can we help?
Homelessness is an issue within modern day society but so often the stories and experiences of those struggling are often not understood or are ignored. Statistics show an increased trend of more individuals becoming homeless. Crisis reports that there are 71,400 people who are currently sofa surfing across the UK. On average, homeless people die at just 44 years old. Additionally, People facing homelessness are hit especially hard by COVID-19. Many people who were already living with financial pressures are at serious risk of being pushed into homelessness as a result of the outbreak.
