Shape the Citizens Alliance Network

We all want to be proud of where we live and have the chance to shape our future.

But to do that, we all have a part to play.

We want the Citizens Alliance Network to to be built by the community, for the community.

Have your say. Take part.

  • What you told us

In summer 2020, you told us what you wanted from a Citizens' Alliance Network. This is what was said:

    • 47% of people said they would most like to use the network online
    • 2% said they'd prefer to use the network in-person
    • 51% said they'd like a mix of online and in-person involvement

The top three reasons you'd like to get involved were:

    • Getting in touch with your neighbours to create positive change
    • Having more power over decisions that affect your neighbourhood
    • Understanding and sharing information about what's happening in the community

Topics that you'd like to talk to your neighbours and the council about included:

    • Rubbish
    • Road safety
    • Cleanliness
    • Crime
    • Events
    • Bringing the community together
    • Parking
    • Climate emergency

Thinking about your experiences during the coronavirus pandemic, many of you told us that:

    • You'd be more likely to participate in parts of local decision making
    • You have friends, family, and neighbours who will support you if you need support
    • You are more likely to want to get involved in community work
    • It has improved your understanding of the Borough
    • If you want to make a change in your community, you are able to do so
    • If you want to make a change to your life, you are able to do so

A community conversation was held on the 21st October 2020, where residents discussed more ideas for the future of the Citizens' Alliance Network.
