Why are you asking these questions?

As part of the commission, we're keen to understand residents views on gender and relationships. These questions come from national surveys so we can compare how Barking and Dagenham compares.
Questions 1 and 2 come from the British Societal Attitudes Survey, a national survey which has been running since 1983 (http://natcen.ac.uk/our-research/research/british-social-attitudes/)
Question 3 comes from a School Health Education Unit Survey (https://sheu.org.uk/) which we commissioned to do a survey in Barking and Dagenham schools in 2017 and 2019.
Questions 5, 6 and 7 come from the Crime Survey for England and Wales which is carried out by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) to help the Government to understand the true level of crime (https://www.crimesurvey.co.uk/en/AboutTheSurvey.html
If you have any queries about the questions, please email domesticabusecommission@lbbd.gov.uk
