Central Park Improvement Project
Going to the park can improve mental and physical health for all ages. We're making changes to some of the borough's parks and green spaces to make them more accessible, safe, and fun for everyone.
What improvements are planned for Central Park?
- biodiversity enhancements such as significant native tree and wildflower planting;
- new park facilities comprising a toddler playground, an adventure playground zone, an ‘events amphitheatre; and
- improvements to the footpath network to provide improved access and remove barriers.
For further information about these changes, check out the "Find out more" tab to your right, or watch the video.

We are on to the next phase of installing a brand new Junior Adventure Play Area!
We asked local residents to help us decide on the final design, the different elements of the play equipment you want included, and what colour you wanted the new play equipment to be.
Have a look at the current design below.
The new children's play area is set to be installed in Spring/Summer 2024.
You decided and we delivered. Thank you for completing the survey, the Toddler play area is now complete
