Who is a Carer?
A Carer, also known as an informal carer, is an unpaid individual, like a family member, friend, or neighbour, who provides help and support to someone due to their illness, disability, mental health issues, or old age. The help is provided without payment.
What is a Carers Charter?
The Carers Charter is a statement of our values, principles and standards and outlines our commitment to supporting carers as a partnership and will cover several areas that will have been defined by carers, partners from health, social care, the Community and Voluntary sector and the Council.
What does that mean for me as a carer?
As a carer it is important for us to understand how we can support you and design future services to better support you to continue in your caring role.
What is an ‘I Statement’?
I Statements’ are expressions that describe what good care and support should feel like from the perspective of the person receiving it.
How can I get involved?
This is the final stage of the co-production of the Carers Charter and we are asking Carers to rank the ‘I Statements’ from 1-6, (1 being the most relevant to them and 6 being the least relevant to them). The top four ‘I Statements’ under each area will be included in the Carers Charter refresh.
