Adults' Care and Support Charging Policy

Sorry!  This consultation has now concluded.

In 2011, Barking and Dagenham Council introduced a more comprehensive charging policy for Adult Social Care, in response to Government guidance on the charging system.  This policy was last reviewed and amended in 2015, following the introduction of the Care Act 2014.

When reviewing the current policy,  we have identified some problems with its operation and that some parts are not clearly defined.

We are proposing to make changes to the policy to address these issues and, at the same time, make the policy easier for people to understand, and for us to administer.

These proposals will bring in additional income for the council, this is essential if we are able to continue to provide good quality social care services to all residents who need them.

You can let us know your thoughts on the proposals detailed in the supporting documents by either completing the online questionnaire or attending public meetings dedicated to this consultation process.
