Ensuring that women and girls feel safe when they’re out and about in Barking and Dagenham is a key priority for us. Nobody should leave their home and feel scared or anxious that they may get harassed or spoken to inappropriately.
That’s why we have launched our Women’s Safety Forum to provide a safe space for women, girls and community groups to come together to discuss and highlight any issues that are occurring in the borough.
The Forum is joint chaired by Councillor Maureen Worby, Cabinet Member for Health Integration and Adults Social Care and resident Kayleigh Tumber.
