Community Walkabout Programme

These are a programme of 2 pre-scheduled walkabouts per year for each of the 19 wards in the Borough, commencing April 2023 for housing land/estates within the ward, managed by Landlord Services.

Your local Ward Councillors will be invited to attend and can raise any issues they may have received from residents during their ward surgeries or raised by residents.

Where appropriate other council services will be invited to come along and deal with specific issues raised, these include:

  • Caretaking

  • Repairs

  • Highways

  • Safer Neighbourhood Teams (SNT)

  • Enforcement

You can find the dates and times for all ward walkabouts in the calendar attached here. You can also leave a comment or report an issue below:

We want to work together with residents to improve our local areas. Please help us by identifying issues and opportunities, such as:

  • Areas which require minor estate upgrades, such as improved street lighting or fencing

  • Crime-related or Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) issues

  • Highway issues including fly tipping and abandoned vehicles.

We will publish regularly on the Community Walkabouts online page, detailing which issues were picked up on the walkabouts and what actions have been taken, so that together we can resolve problems and pursue shared goals.

This is also an opportunity to identify potential estate improvement projects to be funded from future rounds of ‘Your Estate Your Call’ fund. Last year we made over £100,000 of improvements works through this fund, all done based on resident suggestions and voting! So if you have ideas for potential improvements to your estates, please let us know!

We want residents to take pride in the place they live in and to work together as a community and with the council to keep our local areas clean and safe to live in.

If you would like more information or want to speak about community walkabout you can contact: John Bloss or call us on 0208 000 0000
