Have your say on how the School Street has been going at Thames View Junior School

Thank you to everyone that took part in this consultation.

We are analysing the surveys and will update this page in the autumn when consultation across all our School Streets is complete.

YOUR School Street – Tell Us What You Think!

The School Street was introduced to help create a safer environment for children walking, wheeling, cycling or scooting to school. Samuel Ferguson Place is pedestrian and cycle-only zones during term time between the hours of 8am to 9:15am and 2:45pm to 4pm. Due to a lengthy procurement process, this measure has been enforced using barriers since launch. We're working with contractors to procure and install ANPR cameras opposite the entrance to Samuel Ferguson Place, which will take over enforcement once in place. The cameras will be installed after a launch date is confirmed, and we’ll make sure all residents, school staff, and parents/carers are notified in advance.

Emergency vehicles remain exempt and residents living inside the School Street, school staff (where the carpark is only accessible from inside a School Street), some carers, blue badge holders, and local businesses may be eligible for vehicle exemptions.

We want your views on the School Street

We want to hear from you! Your feedback will help us understand how the School Street is working and shape any future improvements. Please take a few moments to share your thoughts by completing our short survey via the survey button below:

Please complete the survey by Sunday 12 October 2025.

Your views can help inform future School Streets decisions.
