Summer of Festivals

The Council’s Events Teams and steering group are currently working on a revised plan for the 2021 Summer of Festivals programme. The programme usually includes the Barking Folk Festival, Steam and Cider Fair, One Borough Festival, Roundhouse Music Festival, the Youth Parade, a heritage re-enactment event, and other events from partners from May - September.

Following the recent announcements by the Government with the outlined roadmap, we hope to be holding some events in the parks later this year if safe to do so, but the programme will need to be adapted and some programming may still be online.

This year is special as we mark the centenary of the Becontree Estate (Becontree Forever) so there is a special focus this year with the One Borough Festival transforming into the Becontree 100 Festival.
