How long will the lease last for?
The lease available will be up to 5 years with a 5 year extension, this is to be decided by the council and the VCFSE partner(s).
Will other VCFSE partner(s) that work from the venues still be able to access spaces for free/cheaply?
The VCFSE Partner(s) is responsible for developing a fair and consistent policy for working with existing and new VCSFSE groups. Existing arrangements must be honored at the current hire rate, or possible reviewed to ensure nominal contributes towards running costs.
How much detail can the council provide on the running cost of these venues?
Recent figures for running costs are included for each venue in the information pack. The annual rent for this site is £26,750 and Utility costs are approximately £32,000 annually, so you can expect to pay in the region of £58,000+ each year.
How will maintenance costs and repairs be divided between the council and the VCFSE partner(s)?
The Community Partner(s) is responsible for capital infrastructure, which includes the exterior of the building and any major repairs (for example, to the roof). The interior of the space (e.g., decoration) and any interior maintenance (for example, repairing a faulty door) are the responsibility of the partner(s). These responsibilities will be agreed and explained in detail in the lease.
Who will be responsible for the venue's insurance?
The VCFSE partner(s) is responsible for covering insurance costs
Will the council be able to support with any investments towards the running of the buildings?
The Council are offering the site as is, there will be no additional investment to the site that may arise after the assets transfer
Will the council help to improve the energy efficiency of the venues?
The council would be open to discussing how it can help VCFSE partner(s) with energy efficiency. This help could include directing the VCFSE partner(s) towards funding opportunities that they could apply for, discussing the possibility of the council contributing money towards energy efficiency work, etc. The council is also happy to help VCFSE partner(s) to find and access funding opportunities related to areas other than energy efficiency.
