Faith Forum

The Barking & Dagenham Faith Forum have worked with the council to develop a set of actions, designed to improve the connections between faith organisation in the borough. This set of actions was developed after having wide and varied conversations with a range of people from different faiths, beliefs, and backgrounds.

We know that in Barking & Dagenham, faith is a priority, and that lots of impactful, inspiring faith-based work and partnerships already exist across the community.

We know that faith-based organisations are all different, some are large, with lots of people attending them and some are smaller, with a smaller amount of people using them to worship. Some organisations are happy to engage in interfaith activities, while others are more wary of what exactly is going to be achieved.

The B&D Faith Forum, alongside the council are interested in having discussions about what it means to be part of faith organisations locally, how they help each other and how your faith has possibly helped other people over the last year.

“Working with others can be challenging but we can come together around social issues if not spiritual issues.”
