The Council is working to improve how we work with residents: Communicating with them better, involving them more, and ultimately collaborating with them on the things that they care about. This is part of what we call Relational Council.
There are good examples of where this is already working, but it is often isolated and the learning is not always shared. For us to be a truly relational council, this approach needs to be the way we do things all the time, not just a one-off.
The champions will:
Identify forthcoming engagement opportunities in your teams/services, helping to create a shared ‘roadmap’
Promote engagement and the resident voice in your team, making resident engagement the norm
Support your team with engagement knowledge, bringing a set of new skills and tools
Be part of an exciting engagement champion network, supporting your own and your peer’s development whilst helping to build a more connected and relational council
