Have your say on the draft Local Plan

Share your views on the future of the borough by getting involved in our new Local Plan public consultation

We are preparing a new Local Plan which sets the vision and framework for future growth in the borough until 2037. The Local Plan sets out targets for the number of homes and jobs to be delivered and will reflect Barking and Dagenham's commitment to tackle climate change and create vibrant and healthy communities in London.

It will set out the requirements for new infrastructure and facilities such as transport links, schools, and health centres to meet the needs of new and existing residents, as well as protect the features in the borough which people cherish, such as parks and historic buildings.

We are currently consulting on the Regulation 19 draft Local Plan. This public consultation will run from 5 October 2020 until midnight on 29 November 2020.

This is the last chance for the public to have a say before the Local Plan is submitted for Independent Examination, so we encourage all residents and businesses to share your views.
