Dagenham Heathway Supplementary Planning Document (SPD)
The Dagenham Heathway Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) has been developed to provide a comprehensive vision for the area, providing supplementary guidance to Local Plan Policy SPP6. The SPD sets out the ambition to reinvigorate Dagenham Heathway as a key centre in the Borough.
The vision for Dagenham Heathway is supported by four Place Objectives, which respond to feedback received from engagement with the local community, baseline evidence and the opportunity for regeneration. These Place Objectives are for a:
Cleaner and greener Heathway
Safe and successful Heathway
Healthy and connected Heathway
Vibrant and social Heathway
On 16 June 2026, the Council’s Cabinet adopted the Dagenham Heathway SPD. It has been prepared to guide future planning decisions, developer contributions and future funding into and around Dagenham Heathway. This SPD is a material consideration in the determination of planning applications within the Dagenham Heathway SPD Area, and as per Policy SPP6 of the Local Plan, proposals should demonstrate how they align with this SPD.
We sought feedback on the draft Dagenham Heathway SPD between 26 January to 15 March 2026 and revised the SPD to address feedback received.
