Last year, as we were in the grip of the pandemic, a resident got in touch to ask if we could help to map where the Christmas lights across the borough were. The resident went on to say that lots of people shared their decorated homes on Facebook groups, but it wasn't easy to use this information to take a walk, a cycle or a drive to see them.
This year we've been asked to make the Christmas lights map available again- and to expand it to include events and support that's available in the run up to and over Christmas. There are 3 types of pins your can add to the map:
Lights
Click on the map below, drag the pin to the location of your home, or some amazing lights you have seen. Add a comment so people know what to expect- something like 'a lovely Christmas scene in the front garden' or 'a whole house and garage are completely covered in lights'. You can also upload a photo.
Events
Drag the events pin onto the map at the location where your event is taking place. Add information, including when your event is taking place, what the event is, who is organising it and of course the date and time. Include where people can find out more information- eg through adding a web link
Support
Drag the support pin onto the map at the location where support is available. Add information, including what support is available, for whom, and when. Include contact details, like a phone number or web link.
