What is a Carers Charter?

The Carers Charter will be a statement of our values, principles and standards and outlines our commitment to supporting carers and will cover several areas that will have been defined by carers, partners from health, social care and the Council.

What does it mean for me as a carer?

As a carer it is important for us to understand how we can support you and design future services to better support you to continue in your caring role.

How will my feedback be used?

This consultation will take the information that you have provided and will be used to develop statements on what is important for carers in the Borough.

These statements will build the foundation of the Carers Charter.  The Carers Charter will be used to develop priorities that will be based on these statements and will be delivered via an action plan that will be monitored through the Carers Strategy Group.

    How can I get involved?

We will be spending the next few weeks asking questions about your caring role.   These questions will be developed in two phases.  The first phase of questions are included in the next section.  The answers to these questions will be analysed and used to develop the next phase of statements for you to choose from that best represent you as a carer.  The final statements will be shared alongside the priorities that we will be delivering.   During the process the findings will be analysed, so that carers will be the drivers in developing the Charter and collaborate with us and our partners to bring carers to the forefront of service delivery.
