Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG) for Organisations with Charitable Aims

The application window has now closed.

We believe that the main purpose of your organisation is either charitable as defined by the Charities Act 2011, or it has been established to benefit the community of Barking & Dagenham and this is reflected in its structure.

We would like to offer you the opportunity to apply for a grant under the Additional Restrictions Grant scheme with a one of grant of £10,000.

The ARG is a discretionary fund, which means the council has the freedom to determine which types of organisations are prioritised for funding. However, Central Government sets the rules on who is excluded from the scheme. You cannot apply for funding if your organisation falls into the following categories:

  • Is in administration, insolvent, has been struck off the Companies House register or is subject to striking-off action.
  • Has exceeded the permitted subsidy allowance (please refer to the letter you received)

We must remind you that this invitation is not confirmation that you will receive a grant as we have a limited amount of funding available and will be available on a first come, first served basis . A successful grant award is dependent on your application being verified as satisfying the set criteria.

You must provide accurate information on your application. The Government will not accept deliberate manipulation and fraud. Anyone that falsifies their records to gain additional grant money will face prosecution and any funding issued will be subject to clawback, including any grants paid in error.

Please note this is a restricted scheme and will only be available to those organisations who we have selected and invited to apply, any applications from businesses who have not been invited will be automatically rejected.

Following your application, you will receive a confirmation email acknowledging we have received your application successfully. The scheme will close for applications on 18 March 2022 and all final payments must be made and dispersed to recipients by 31 March 2022.

We are working as fast as possible to make these grants available. All applications will be reviewed accordingly, you will be contacted if required. We will send a notification email advising you of our decision as soon as it is made.

We encourage you to complete this application as soon as possible.
