About the Citizens Alliance Network

What is the Citizens Alliance Network?

We know that the people of the Borough have been fantastic at coming together during the coronavirus pandemic, and helping each other in many ways - shopping for a neighbour who is isolating, calling friends and family, and showing our support for frontline workers through rainbow art in windows and Clapping for Carers.

Since lockdown restrictions have lifted, we want to continue this community spirit. That's why we're inviting all residents to take part in the Citizens' Alliance Network.

Most of what we do at the moment is online, but we'll soon be hosting some in person and face to face workshops - about what, we don't know yet. What do you think?

The Network is still being shaped, and it will grow and evolve over time depending on what residents think and want - so please, have your say!

How can I get involved?

  • Take part in the projects that are already part of the Network
  • Subscribe to get updates and invitations about the Network
  • Got an idea for something that isn't here? Let us know - use the ideas tool at the bottom of the page.

Whether you want to dip in to the things that interest you or have a say on everything that comes up, the Network is a place for this. There's no commitment required.

Who is it for?

Anyone who lives, works, studies or has a connection to Barking and Dagenham.

What can we get involved in or talk about?

To start with, we have some projects that you can help to shape- you'll see these listed on the right under 'live projects'. We want to open this up, to the things that you want to talk about. Got an idea? Then get in touch.

How can we get more people involved?

  • Tell your friends and neighbours about the Network
  • Use the social media buttons at the top of the page to spread the word
